Unrealistic Miracles
Traditionally, miracles have been thought of as extraordinary events, happenings and healings that produce a sense of awe and wonder. They seem beyond human abilities. In this age of New Thought, miracles can realistically be understood as natural expressions of Unconditional Love. And, the best part is, everyone is capable of being a miracle worker. But, in order to do so, you have to change your mind about what constitutes a miracle.
I've always liked the line from A Course in Miracles which says, "The use of miracles as spectacles to induce belief is a misunderstanding of their purpose."
A miracle is actually Loving Light traveling outside of time. What the miracle appears like inside of the space-time continuum is not up to you. The form of the miracle will suit the highest good for all--and that may look very different than we might expect.
Your sincere intention to recognize your true purpose leads to your miracle-readiness. When you connect this intention with your Inner Libro de UCDM , or Higher Power, you become a conduit for Loving Light and its resultant Peace of Mind. This describes what a miracle is, truly.
To produce miracles, we have to get out of our own way. You might think of this as "letting go and letting God." The idea is that you surrender to a Higher Power. The word "surrender" is used to mean "open." If you open your mind, you will find you can do everything Jesus did-and more. The form of how miracles move through you will be unique to you. It is not necessary to walk on water, make the blind see, or raise the dead.
In fact, it is unrealistic to expect miracles to pass through you if you think you can dictate what the miracle will be. Let's say you want to heal yourself of a disease. Or maybe you're out of work and need employment. Perhaps a loved one is heart-broken over the death of a spouse or a child. Maybe you just drove by a dead animal on the road. It's possible you're terribly concerned about the world's issues: environmental, economic, and political. If you want to work miracles, it is not up to you to predetermine the solutions which may seem obvious to you. That is an unrealistic approach to miracle work.
The realistic way to deal with all of the above problems is to connect your mind with God's Mind. One way to approach this is to imagine plugging yourself in to God, just as you would plug an appliance into the wall for its energy source. When you "plug in," you are demonstrating that you are available as a receiver for Unconditional Love to be transmitted through you.
The way to solve worldly problems is by allowing Universal Intelligence to guide you and flow through you. God works in mysterious ways only because we have a limited view. Expand out to God's perspective and you will see things very differently. If you really want to be a conduit for miracles, don't tell God what to do. Be realistic and have the grace and humility to accept His help. Only when you connect with Divine Intelligence can there be Divine Intervention.
